Mission

The mission of Esther’s Haven is to provide for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of orphan children worldwide.

Vision

To embrace the world’s children with love by rescuing them, providing a safe haven, and giving them hope and a future.

History of Esther’s Haven

Harry and Janet Dick, founders of Esther’s Haven, have been given a wonderful vision and burden to spread the gift of love to orphan children. In pursuit of this calling, they have established Esther’s Haven, a Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to providing for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of orphan children worldwide. It is our prayer that each child would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and be adopted into a loving home.

Birth of a Legacy

Although the vision for Esther’s Haven began in 1995, the desire to care for children grew in Janet’s heart when she was just a small child. She had an intense love for children, especially for those who did not have a loving family of their own.

From Mother to Daughter

During 1995, Janet cared for her mother Esther. Esther also had a passion for loving and caring for children. During her final days, Esther would hold the babies recently born into the family and cry as if they were her own responsibility, wondering who would care for “her little girls.” Esther’s legacy of loving children continues to grow in Janet’s heart. It is because of this legacy of love, that this organization has been named after Janet’s mother, Esther.

In 1997, Janet took her first trip to Kunming, China, to help care for children in a government run orphanage. A year later, Harry and Janet returned to China and adopted an eight-year old girl, Rachel. Another year past and they went back to China and adopted their second daughter, Rebecca.

From Mother to Son and Daughter-in-law

Esther’s legacy of love continued to be passed on from Janet to her son and daughter-in-law. In response to a burden in their own hearts, they pursued the adoption of twin Chinese girls, Jonilyn and Janet.

Passing on the Legacy

The needs of orphan children worldwide are enormous. Many orphan children still lack the basic necessities of life.

You have the opportunity to start your own legacy of love by providing these children with proper shelter, nourishment, medical care, and an education. Please consider this wonderful opportunity to change a life by praying and giving.

If you are considering adoption and want to talk with someone who has been through this process, please feel free to call Janet Dick at the phone number listed below.
